Irwin Allen Ginsberg was born on June 3, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey to Louis and Naomi (Levy) Ginsberg. American poet, author, lecturer, and teacher who was one of the core members of the Beat Generation of American author's in the 1950's and early 1960's along with Jack Kerouac, William S. Francis Toohey, with his partner Bruce Jope, was the founder and editor of the magazine Hit Parade. Hit Parade was published in Boston from 1978-1980 and in New York from 1980-1982. Toohey also wrote the popular "Homoside" feature of the magazine.
